Exquisite & Rare! Vintage VÊNDOME Silver-Tone Cascading Bib Necklace of Filigree Leaves | Matching Clip Earrings | Stunning and Head-Turning
This exquisite 1950s (or early 1960s) Vêndome bib necklace with matching clip-on screw-back earrings would make a sensational bridal jewelry set, or add glamour and head-turning appeal to many different outfits.
It features a cascade of rhodium-plated pairs of delicate filigree leaves in a V-shaped formation. The necklace has a hook closure and a maximum length of 40 cm (~15.75"). The bib itself is 12 cm (~4.75") wide at the collar bone while the drape is about 13 cm (~5.1").
The earrings are similarly appealing. Hanging from a small round filigree ball, each features one large pair of leaves, which is overlayed by a smaller pair of leaves.
The set is in excellent condition, and while there are several examples of Vêndome bib necklaces on Etsy, this one is hard-to-find and in quite a different class!
ABOUT VENDOME Vêndome was introduced in 1944 as the high-end line of jewelry from Coro, which was the most popular jewelry brand of the 1950s and 60s. Vêndome jewelry was sold in stores such as Neiman Marcus, Macy,s, and Bloomingdales and it was company policy that any store that carried Vendome could not also offer any other Coro pieces.
The Vêndome brand is very highly sought after today.
