Vintage Gold-Tone Charm Necklace with Old Coins from France, Ceylon, Fiji, and Malaysia PLUS a Star of David Medallion
This very individual charm necklace is constructed around a chunky matte gold-toned chain from which hand eight old coins and one medallion:
• Three French 1 franc coins: 1921, 1932 and 1936 • Two French 2 franc coins: 1922 and 1932 • One Malaysian 1-cent coin: 1945 • One Fijian penny: 1943 • One Celyonese 5-cent coin: 1944 • One Jewish prayer/good luck talion with the Cohen's blessing on the obverse; on the reverse a Star of David with the Tablets in the center with the word "Zion" superimposed, circa.1950. (This is most likely a "charity/fundraiser" token given in exchange for a donation).
The coins are in excellent vintage condition and may have possibly been gold-plated. The chunky chain, which closes with a toggle clasp, is slightly darkened due to plating wear, though this gives it an ,antiqued, gold look.
We date this weighty piece to the late 1950s or 60s.
