Absolutely delightful 22 kt gold-plated brooch from Barcs, Australia. It features Chrysocolla, an opaque blue-green gemstone with high copper content and a vitreous to dull sheen. The construction is solid; the gold plating is beautifully lustrous, and the condition is exceptional.
Found almost exclusively in Arizona, chrysocolla in quartz is relatively rare and the most expensive type of chalcedony.
Barcs Australia has been producing signature jewelry since 1948 and has always had a reputation for producing quality, contemporary pieces.
