PATES POTTERIES SYDNEY Vintage 1950s Low, Light Blue, Clam-Shaped Vase | Classic Example of Retro Australian Home Décor | Highly Collectible
This light blue clam-shaped centrepiece vase is not just a beautiful example of Australian post-war decorative pottery, but also a piece of social history.
The surface is rough and speckled, adding an organic look and feel to your dining or living room décor. Made by the now highly collectible Pates Pottery Sydney, it,s in excellent vintage condition with just one pinhead spot on the top edge (see image #7).
Apart from this, there are no other chips, cracks, discoloration, or even signs of crazing. Pates Pottery was established by Alfred James Pate in 1946 at Belmore, a suburb of Sydney, Australia, and at its peak of production in the 1950s and 60s employed more than 100 people.
