Vintage ALFRED MEAKIN MCM Coffee Service | Six Cups & Saucers, Coffee Pot, Creamer, and Sugar Bowl | Glo-White ,Ironstone, | Made in England
This six-place coffee set is a lovely example of mid-century modern crockery design.
Made in England it dates to the late 1960s to early 1970s.
Designed and made in England during the 60s/70s as part of Alfred Meakin,s popular Glo-White Ironstone range the set echoes the Finnish and Scandinavian design sensibility of the time with its geometric pattern of squares and bars with stylized starbursts in colors of dark brown, tan, camel, and a touch of black.
The set comprises a coffee pot (with original lid), six cups and saucers, a creamer, and a sugar bowl and is in good vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. However, there is some slight surface scuffing on the saucers, age-appropriate crazing to the coffee pot, and a manufacturing indent under the spout of the creamer (please view all photos carefully).
