Rare 1940,s AYNSLEY Bone China Four-Piece Set in Excellent Condition | Cups, Saucers, and Side Plates, Plus Cake Plate, Creamer & Sugar Bowl

This exceptional collection of English-made Aynsley fine bone china dates to the 1930s/40s. Not only is this a rare pattern with exquisite detail, but it is also highly unusual to find a set of this age in such extraordinary condition — only the coffee pot is absent.

And while there is a sliver of porcelain missing from the inside top edge of the creamer spout (see image #10), there are otherwise no chips, no cracks, no crazing, and no discoloration. This collection includes:

* 4 x trios (cup, saucer, and side plate)
* 1 x creamer
* 1 x sugar bowl
* 1 x tea22.5 cm (~8.8") cake plate

Each piece combines tactile and visual design elements. The surface of the saucers, side plates, and cake plate are sculpted with a pattern that resembles leaves and veins. Likewise, the exterior of the cups, sugar bowl, and creamer are similarly sculpted.

The pattern of large brown leaves and small green leaves set amongst blue and orange flowers is hand-painted and raised. The edges of each piece are scalloped and gilded, while the feet of the cups are painted in a pale green as are the base of the sugar bowl and creamer. The uppermost portion of the white cup and creamer handles is also painted green, and the edges are delineated in gilding.

The surfaces are clean and reflective, and while there is some wear to the gilding on the cups, it is very minimal.

This would make a wonderful addition to any cabinet, and add a touch of old-world class and charm when having guests for morning or afternoon tea. If you need more details or photos, please send us a message.
