This is a truly eye-catching brooch and earrings set that will make a stunning bridal accessory, or add a touch of pizzazz to a cocktail outfit.
It features a dazzling array of large and small round aurora borealis (AB) crystals that refract the light in a myriad of different colors to create a sense of glitz and glamor.
On each piece, the crystals are hand-wired onto a filigree backing, which on the brooch is attached to a solid silver-tone metal plate that holds the roll-over safety clasp. The earrings are completed with silver-tone clips.
We estimate this piece was made in the late 1950s to early 1960s based on the use of hand-wiring (which is rare to see on commercial pieces after the 1960s due to the cost), and the use of AB crystals (which were first used in the mid-1950s but are less common after the early sixties).
