Exquisite 1960s Jules van Rouge Runway Statement Necklace with Kenneth J. Lane Earrings | Rare, Sumptuous, and Highly Collectible
This is an incredibly rare, Jules van Rouge 1960s runway statement necklace, that,s teamed with a pair of absolutely stunning Kenneth J. Lane dangle earrings.
The gold-plated necklace is solid and weighty; extravagant and sumptuous. The detail and workmanship are both meticulous, reflecting an inspired level of artistry rarely seen in more contemporary fashion jewelry.
The large white and gold, dangle clip-on earrings are the perfect companions to the necklace, and while slightly different in their structure and style, have a similar design aesthetic. We acquired this set from an East Coast estate and it,s quite likely that the matching of these pieces is not just a happy coincidence, but more the result of a collaboration between these two iconic jewelry designers.
Jules van Rouge designed pieces for Hattie Carnegie, Valentino, and others. He created numerous pieces for Vogue, and his work was featured on 27 of their covers during the 1960s and 1970s, as well as in more than 10,000 pages of fashion editorials across Vogue and other publications.
He also worked with Kenneth Lane, designing pieces for Lane,s eponymous 1960s and 70s jewelry range that was sold exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue. After Kenneth Lane,s passing in 2017, the sale of his personal jewelry collection included a number of pieces by Jules van Rouge.
If you,re looking for a piece of jewelry that,s truly unique and irreplaceable, with an amazing backstory and history, this stunning runway statement set is not only really special but also highly collectible.
