Mid-Century DENBY Two-Pint Round Lidded Casserole Dish | Delightful ,Rooster Flair, Pattern | Albert Colledge Design | Excellent Condition

This is a fabulous round Denby, lidded casserole dish with handles in the ,Rooster Flair, design. First launched in 1955 Denby Flair was produced until 1969.

The dish measures 13 cm (~5.1") to the top of the lid and 22 cm (~8.5") to the outer edge of the handles. In addition to the Denby Pottery stamp on the reverse, it is signed ,A. Colledge, the creator of the Denby Flair pattern. (For more about Albert Colledge, see below.)

This beautiful mid-century piece is in very good vintage condition with no cracks, chips, discoloration, or crazing — just the occasional scuff marks from utensils.

This is an extremely versatile piece that will add a special touch to your holiday table and family celebrations.

Denby Flair items in such good condition are becoming difficult to obtain.

ABOUT DESIGNER ALBERT COLLEDGE
After joining Denby Pottery as a caster in the early years of the 20th century, Albert Colledge,s talents were quickly recognized.

Following his return in 1918 from the First World War, he became head of Denby,s newly established decorating department and later rose to be the Company,s chief in-house designer, a role that he ceded to his son Glyn in 1950.

However, Albert Colledge remained an important Denby designer, collaborating with his son on many of Denby,s most successful lines until his retirement.
