Stunning Cerise & Purple Lustre-Glaze Pottery Wall Vase/Pocket/Sconce | Quintessential Australian Domestic Décor Piece | Very Good Condition

This stunning double-trumpet-shaped ceramic wall or pocket vase is perfect for an entry room, hallway, living room, or even an outdoor/patio area.

This vase is a fabulous example of the style of decorative homewares being produced in Australia from the 1930s through to the end of the 1950s.

It is in very good vintage condition with just a few scuff marks but no chips, cracks, repairs, or even crazing, while the interior shows no signs of use. The large white patch at the top of the left-hand side is not a loss of glazing, but rather a design technique used by the artist to add a little light and shade to the piece.

It measures 25.5 cm (~10") high, 15.5 cm (~6.1") wide, and 5 cm (~2.0") deep.

This is a really special find.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the lustre glaze, the photographs do not quite capture the true colours of the vase. The outdoor images (#1 to #6) are the most representative, however, the actual colour is a bit darker — more toward deep cerise or even burgundy. The indoor photos (taken with natural light) are less representative of the actual colours.
