Stunning 26 cm (~10.2") Art Deco BENDIGO POTTERY ,Waverley Ware, Vase | 1930 - 1949 | Rich Brown and Tan Drip Glaze | Exceptional Condition
This stunning art deco vase is an excellent example of Australian decorative pottery produced in the 1930s to 1940s, as the economy began to recover from the Great Depression.
Standing 26 cm (~10.2) high and decorated with a bright brown and tan drip glaze, it still bears the original Bendigo Pottery ,Waverley Ware, sticker. Waverley Ware was in production from 1930 to 1949 and reflected Art Deco curves, lines, and angles.
This vase is not just a beautiful (and functional) home décor item, but also a lovely piece of social history.
While there is a very faint 5 cm hairline running vertically from the rim (it doesn,t show up in photography) it seems to be in the glaze. It can,t be detected inside the vase and doesn,t compromise the integrity of the piece. Apart from that, there are no cracks, chips, or repairs.
