Vintage Handmade ,RANGEL, Mottled Brown Stoneware Jug or Art Pottery Bottle | Made in Oliveira De Azemeis, Portugal | Rustic Home Décor
This striking salt-glazed pottery bottle will make a great addition to any art pottery collection. Handmade, with a matte mottled matte brown finish. It is marked "Rangel, Oliveira De Azemeis Portugal" on the side of the bottle near the base. (Oliveira de Azeméis is a city and a municipality located in the Porto metropolitan area in Portugal.)
Although it seems to have a very slight lean to one side (as shown in photo #1), it is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks - just showing the rustic nature of its manufacture.
Possibly dating to the 1970s, it was most likely manufactured as an olive oil bottle.
This is a lovely piece for display in a living room or country kitchen or as an olive oil bottle on a casual lunch table.
