1980s ORREFORS Crystal LARS HELLSTEN-Designed ,Corona, Votive Candle Holder / Bowl | 6.5 cm (~2.6") High, 10 cm (~4") Wide | Good Condition
This six-panel crystal "Corona" votive bowl from Orrefors, with the original sticker, was designed by Lars Hellsten and dates to the 1980s.
It stands 6.5 cm (~2.6") high and 10 cm (~4") across the top.
There is a shallow round 2 mm chip to the base, which is unnoticeable when the bowl is being used (please see image #9). Otherwise, it is in excellent vintage condition with no other chips, cracks, or repairs.
ABOUT LARS HELLSTEN Lars Hellsten studied sculpture and ceramics at the College of Arts, Crafts, and Design in Stockholm and joined Orrefors in 1972. At a time when the Swedish glass industry was structurally, technologically, and artistically related. Playing an integral role in this period of creative change, Lars brought new design ideas and new techniques to glass manufacturing as well as revitalizing older processes.
The artistic vision and technical innovations of Lars Hellsten have made him one of the modern masters of glass design. His works are represented in permanent collections and exhibitions of museums around the world. Lars Hellsten’s glass is characteristically chunky and strong, and many of his designs from the 1970s and 1980s are still bestsellers.
