1960s Legendary SVEN PALQVIST Design for ORREFORS | Cylindrical, Fluted Crystal Candlestick Holder | Doubles as a Paperweight or Desk Object
This exceptional, weighty, cylindrical lead-crystal single taper-candle holder was designed by Sven Palmqvist (1906–1984), one of Sweden,s leading glass artists of the 20th century, who worked for Orrefors from the 1940s to the 1970s.
This piece is an exercise in modern simplicity, with the 14 deep facets cut into the side amplifying the refraction of a lit candle. An excellent example of Orrefors, high-quality production, it can also double as a paperweight or be used as an attractive desk object.
Signed to the base, it,s in excellent vintage condition with no cracks, chips, or flea bites.
