Vintage 1960s CELEBRITY N.Y. Ornate Oval Pendant Necklace | Faux Tiger,s Eye Centerpiece Surrounded by Topaz Colored Crystals | Free Gift Box
This beautiful gold-tone necklace was made by "Celebrity N. Y." in the late 1960s. The ornate oval frame is decorated with small topaz-colored stones and surrounds a large brown faux tigers eye centerpiece.
The fine gold-tone chain is 42 cm (~16.5") in total length, making this a lovely piece to wear inside the opening of a shirt or a deep V-neck top.
According to the authors of the book “Fabulous Fakes: A Passion for Vintage Costume Jewelry”, Celebrity made finer costume jewelry from the 1950s through the 1970s in New York City, which was sold via party plan, the same marketing approach as Sarah Coventry and Emmons.
Celebrity used higher quality rhinestones that were usually handset in frames of silver-, gold-, and rhodium-plated metalwork.
