How Sweet Are These! A Pair of Hand-Painted Pottery, Kangaroo Bookends | A Fabulous Example of Mid-20th Century Australian Home Décor
These two kangaroo-mounted porcelain bookends are fabulous examples of early- to mid-twentieth-century Australian domestic life
Hand-painted and with slight variations to each, they are in exceptional condition for their age. Most importantly, there are no chips, cracks, repairs, or even crazing — although there may be a pinhead-sized loss of glazing at the very tip of one ear.
One has retained its green felt base, the other hasn,t. To add weight, they are filled with sand.
They work equally well as standalone décor pieces, or as functional bookends for small paperbacks (see image #2).
