Vintage CARLTON WARE ,Rouge Royale, New Mikado Serving Dish with Pagoda, Bridge, and Kissing Swallows Scene | Hand-Painted & Highly Gilded
This striking serving dish from Carlton Ware features the Rouge Royale background, which is decorated in gilt and jeweled enamel in the New Mikado pattern, with an elaborate scene that includes a large traditional house, a woman in a kimono, a pagoda, and a bridge, as well as two swallows in flight, kissing.
The scalloped edge of the dish has a gilded flower border. The dish measures 25.5 cm x 16.5 cm and bears the Carlton Ware mark on the base. It is in very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs, showing only minor surface marks from use, and a little gilding loss to the handle. Please carefully examine the photos.
