Stunning! 1930s/40s CROWN DEVON Art Nouveau Pottery Jug | Superb Colors, Fluid Organic Shape, Smooth-as-Velvet Texture | In Mint Condition
This art-nouveau-influenced Crown Devon jug is a superlative piece of 1930s/40s pottery that will make a fabulous addition to your collectible cabinet.
The shape is fluid and organic — highly modern for its day — with sensual lines that are accentuated by the velvet-smooth texture of its surface. Likewise, the graduating colorway that flows from a eucalyptus-green at the top through to a speckled light brown and green at the base, demonstrates rare artistry.
The base is marked "Crown Devon, England" and is devoid of the crown symbol, which indicates it was produced in the 1930s or early 1940s. In almost mint condition, this is a rare find.
