Early 1900s ROYAL DOULTON Miniature Double-Handled Vase | Harry Allen Desert Scene | Rare Collector,s or Cabinet Piece | 7.5 cm (~3") High
This miniature, 7.5 cm (~3") tall, hand-painted double-handled Royal Doulton (RD) vase features a middle eastern desert scene, with gilding to the handles, the outer rim, and inside the rim.
It is signed "H. A" on the base, which is the signature of the artist Harry Allen. While it bears the Royal Doulton mark that was in use from 1902 to 1922, the accompanying identification numbers indicate that it dates to 1905 or 1906.
RD pieces signed by Harry Allen are relatively rare, and many of his most sought-after pieces feature his enchanting desert scenes.
Although there is a hairline crack to the base (see images #8 and #9), the vase remains watertight. Apart from this minor issue, the condition is quite exceptional. There are no cracks, no chips, no discoloration or loss of color, and not even age-related crazing.
This is an exceptional opportunity to acquire a rare collector,s item from a famed and highly respected Royal Doulton artist.
